The profession of architectural in British Columbia is largely characterized by the many small 1 and 2 person firms that make up 60% of the more than 1300 firms in the province. The expertise that exists regionally varies greatly and includes the design of education and he alth care facilities, commercial, residential design/build, and extensive wood frame design.

Architects can be found not only in many of BC's larger cities such as Vancouver, Victoria, Kamploops, Kelowna, Nanaimo, Campbell River, Prince George and Prince Rupert but many smaller BC communities as well.
